To view scheduled events by AWS for your instances using the CLI

Here is the syntax below on how to view instance scheduled for maintenance

aws ec2 describe-instance-status –instance-id i-0xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxb

where i-xxxxxxxxxxxxxb is the customer instance (Server)

Run this from the command-line
Note: the prerequisite for this is having to configure the aws cli using aws configure command

Note this can also be viewed using the console

  • Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/.
  • In the navigation pane, choose Events.
  • Select Instance resources from the filter list, and then select your instance.
  • In the bottom pane, locate Event type. The value is either system-reboot or instance-reboot.
