Outlook

in this article, we shall discuss how to change your password in Outlook Web Access. In Outlook Web Access, the process of changing your password is seamless and user-friendly. This functionality has been a part of Exchange OWA since version 5.5 and continues to be available even in Exchange 2013, where it’s automatically enabled. This feature empowers mailbox users to conveniently modify their Active Directory password directly from within OWA. This mirrors the experience of an end user who opts to update their domain password from their personal computer.

Please see how to setup WatchGuard Log Server, how to disable Password Change for all Users Exchange server 2013,2016 and 2019, and how to stop Outlook from opening links in Edge Browser.

Change your password in Outlook

To change your password in Outlook via Outlook Web Access. Log on to your OWA environment using your company’s OWA URL.

In my example, it is https://techdirectarchive.com/owa, but it can be anything in your environment.

Now go to your mailbox settings and click on the gear wheel icon in the upper-right corner of your OWA 2013, next to your mailbox name.

Click on Settings, and a small context menu will open up from which you can select Change Password. This will bring you to the Change Password settings page.

Enter your current Active Directory password, followed by your new password twice. Although the password change should be successful and you expect a confirmation of this.

If something goes wrong during the password change process, you’ll receive a notification popup. A common problem is not having a new password according to the company’s security password policy settings.
