How to disable Network (Wireless) UI from the Welcome screen

In this article, we shall discuss the steps on How to disable Network (Wireless) UI from the Welcome screen. The Network (Wireless) UI in Windows enables you to manage your PC’s wireless (Wi-Fi) connections. This interface presents various options for connecting to, configuring, and managing wireless networks. This wireless network interface can be accessed by clicking on the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (lower-right corner of the taskbar). The icon will look like a signal strength symbol, with bars indicating connection quality.

Disable Network (Wireless) UI

To remove the Wireless UI from the Welcome screen, kindly follow these steps below. From the command prompt,

Run gpedit.msc to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
– In the Local Group Policy Editor, under Computer Configuration,
– Expand Administrative Templates,
– Expand System, and
– Click on Logon.
– Double-tap or click Do not display network selection UI.

Welcome screen

Sign-out and sign in again to have the policy applied or run Gpupdate /force to apply the policy.
