Bluetooth device removal

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that makes short-range connections between devices such as your MacBook, Mouse, keyboard, or headset at distances up to 10 meters which are approximately 30 feet. Also, with Bluetooth, your iPhone or iPad can create a “Personal Hotspot” to provide Internet access for your Mac through your wireless service provider. Please use this guide on how to fix Bluetooth not available on MacBook. No doubt, with all that we have explained above, Bluetooth has become the standard for inter-device connectivity, it is no surprise that there are a lot of Bluetooth devices that one can decide to remove or pair his or her MacBook with.

Let us follow the steps discussed below to remove and add a new Bluetooth device to MacBook. You can use this first step below if you have chosen to have "Bluetooth displayed in your menu bar", otherwise, proceed to the second step below.

Method 1: If you have the Bluetooth icon displayed on your menu bar.
– On the menu bar, click on the Bluetooth icon and
– Select “Open Bluetooth Preferences” as shown below

Furthermore, This will open the Bluetooth window, select the device you wish to remove and click on the “X” button to delete the device from your Macbook.

You will be prompted to confirm if you wish to delete the device. However, Simply click on Remove to have it deleted from your device.

Moreover, That is all needed to remove your old Bluetooth device from your MacBook.

Method 2: you should use the steps below if you do not have the Bluetooth icon displayed in your menu bar as described above.

There are various ways to launch the Systems properties window. In addition, you can fire this up from the Launchpad, using spotlight search, or by clicking on the Apple Menu (Mac icon) on the menu bar.
– Click on System properties
– Click on the Bluetooth icon as shown below

Furthermore, This will open the Bluetooth window, as shown below.

You will be prompted to confirm if you wish to delete the device
– Click on Remove as shown below.

That is all that needs to be done 😉
But if you are having issues and unable to remove the Bluetooth device on your MacBook, chances are that your plist file may require a manual refresh. To do this follow the steps below.

These steps will remove all the Bluetooth devices, and you will need to re-pair all the devices you want to use with your Macbook. Additionally, Using Finder on your Macbook,
– Click on Go to Folder as shown below

Therefore, This will open the go-to folder Window.
– Type in the following path below

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist

Grab the file and move it to trash as shown below

Reboot your Mac
– This will remove all your Bluetooth devices, and you can repair the devices you will use with your MacBook.

This brings us to the point on how to pair (connect your device to MacBook. To do this, follow the steps below.

Nevertheless, the BlueTooth on the device you are pairing is turned on, otherwise, you will not be able to see it in the list of available devices.
– Click on Connect as shown below

Similarly, the device is connected and you can now use the device (in my case headset) from now on).
