The Windows Regional format refers to the way in which date, time, currency, and other numeric values are displayed on a running Windows operating system. The Regional format settings specify the date, time, and number formats used by the operating system, as well as the language used for messages and system alerts. The Regional format settings are determined by the country or region that you select in the Windows settings. This information is used by Windows and other applications to display information in a format that is appropriate for the selected country or region. Therefore, in this guide, you will learn how to change Regional Settings for all users on Windows. Here are some interesting guides you may want to take a look at Windows Display Language: How to add languages to your Personal PC, andhow to forcefully Remove Language Pack on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The regional settings allow the operating system and apps such as the Microsoft Store to personalise the experience showing you content based on your location as discussed above. During a Windows upgrade, your settings will be overwritten by the default Windows settings and you will have to uninstall some apps you do not want and change the region format. In this guide, you will learn how to set the correct region format based on the language you need without reinstallation.

Note: Since regional settings are applied per user. I will also show you in this guide how to apply regional settings to all users. For organisations working with people that require to use different preferences. Changes in these settings will be very productive. I will advise you to always change the locale settings on your Windows PC when you travel to another region.

At the time of writing this guide, depending on where you reside, the locale you work with, and the locale you belong to, Windows allows you to override the default regional format settings for an improved local experience. You can add languages and regional support to Windows 10, and Windows 11 except for Home Single Language and Home Country-Specific editions, and Windows Server. S you cab see from the Windows below, the information is being displayed in my country format (German Language).

Since I am focused on the Region format, I will only show you this step. Under the “Regional format” section, use the drop-down menu to decide if Windows 11 should configure date and time formats based on your language and regional settings.

As you can see below, the option I have after the upgrade is recommended. This will output the languages in German when working with some Windows tools.
