Note: Uninstalling Zoom on Mac from version 4.4.53932.0709

Uninstall Zoom
Open the Zoom desktop application as shown below. Select zoom.us at the top of your screen and select Uninstall Zoom.

Select OK to confirm uninstalling the Zoom desktop application and all of its components

You will be required to enter your password in order for the Zoom installer to make the required changes to your PC. When you are done, click on OK.

Uninstall Zoom version 4.4.53909.0617 and below
Since the uninstallation of Zoom version 4.4.53909.0617, below are the steps to complete the uninstallation.
1: Open Finder.
2: Select Go at the top of your screen.
3: Select Go to Folder...
4: Once opened, input ~/.zoomus/
5: Move ZoomOpener to your trash.
Once completed, repeat steps 3 through 5 for the following folders and files:
- Folder: /Applications/ Move to Trash: zoom.us.app
- Folder: ~/Applications/ Move to Trash: zoom.us.app
- Folder: /System/Library/Extensions/ Move to Trash: ZoomAudioDevice.kext
- Folder: ~/Library/Application\ Support/ Move to Trash: zoom.us
Note: Zoom may not be installed in both the /Applications and ~/Applications folders. Once completed, download Zoom from our download center and reinstall as discussed below.
Note that if you installed Zoom on another directory, you will have to find all the indicated files on those directories instead. You can use the Finder to search for individual files rather than opening specific folders.
Install Zoom Desktop Client
Now that you have uninstalled Zoom, you can proceed with the steps below to have Zoom installed. Head over to the Zoom download centre. Next, click on the Zoom Desktop Client as shown below to download it.
Note: At the bottom left of your screen, the Zoom installer (That is the zoomusInstallerFull.pkg for macOS) will automatically start downloading the Zoom desktop client.

Oftentimes, this Zoom installer will start automatically. If this does not happen, double-click on the Zoom installer to begin the desktop client install. On the Welcome to the Zoom installer, please on continue to proceed.

The installation is very basic. Therefore, I will skip over the Destination selection. On the “Installation Type”, Click on Install
. If you wish to specify a different Install Location, you can do it also in this window.

As you can see below, you will be required to authenticate in order for the installer to install Zoom. Kindly enter your password and click on Install Software
.

As you can see, the installation has started and was completed successfully.



Upgrade Zoom Application
Zoom regularly provides new versions of the Zoom desktop client app to release new features and fix bugs. They recommend upgrading to the latest version whenever is available in order to receive the best video and audio experience. Also, you can also automatically keep Zoom up to date.
To update Zoom, launch Zoom and select zoom.us
at the top of your screen. Next, you will have to select “Check for Updates” as shown in the image below.

Alternatively, to upgrade Zoom, sign in to Zoom desktop client, and click your profile picture then click Check for Updates.
If there are updates, you will be prompted to install, and when the installation completes, the following screen will be prompted. Kindly click on Done when complete.

When there are no installation updates, the following Window will be prompted below.
