Unable to bind to LDAP or AD in Pleasant Password Server

Binding to an existing LDAP directory or Microsoft Active Directory (AD) allows you to reuse the user accounts that you already have in the directory, without having to create new accounts in the Active directory. The LDAP Bind Operation. Bind operations are used to authenticate clients (and the users or applications behind them to the directory server, to establish an authorization identity that will be used for subsequent operations processed on that connection, and to specify the LDAP protocol version that the client will use. Solutions for “Unable to bind to LDAP or AD”

Most at times, the problem is with the credential's username/password or the account used to connect to the LDAP/AD directory. However, other possible connection issues are as follow

  • Username/Password, account problems
  • Network/Port problems
  • Domain Controller connection problems
  • Restarting Service / Server
  • Certificate problems

Note: In my case, this was due to not entering the right directory server (Computer name) of the DC.
