In this article, I will be showing you how to Remove All Microsoft Office Apps from Mac. I recently had to remove Office from my MacBook due to licensing issues. Here is a guide on this topic “Remove Office License on Mac: How do you change the account that Office says it belongs to“, and this led to the removal of these office apps. I could have run the license removal tool to remove Office on this test device, but I wanted to demonstrate how to install Office afresh. Therefore, there was a need to uninstall the apps.

Kindly refer to these related guides: How to hide or stop Apps such as OneDrive from opening automatically upon login on Macbook Pro, how to download a shared ZOOM recording, and how to add or remove folders in Favorites in Microsoft Outlook.

What is Microsoft Office?

Microsoft Office comprises a set of tools which are as follows: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and OneDrive. To use such apps, you can either subscribe to Office 365 on Microsoft’s website. Or download the apps from there or download the individual apps from the Mac App Store and buy a subscription as an in-app purchase.

The following steps below will help you uninstall Micrsoft Office on Mac. To do this open Finder and click on Applications. With the Shift command or “Command + click” to select all of the Office for Mac applications.

Next, you could move the apps to the Bin. Or right-click on them as shown below, and select Move to Bin. If you are having issues deleting OneDrive, please take a look at this guide: How to fix the item “OneDrive” can’t be moved to the Bin because it’s open on Mac.

Select Office apps and Move to Bin to uninstall

When the above steps are complete, please restart your device and complete the uninstall. Please see How to Fix Microsoft Excel Crash Issue, how to set up and Configure Office Online Server.

Note: You must be signed in as an administrator to do these steps, and you probably already are. If you’re using your own Mac. If you’re at a Mac that’s part of a network at work, you might have to ask someone in your IT organization for help with signing in as an administrator. Please refer to this link for more information.

Remove from Dock and Restart

After the uninstallation, you may want to remove the redundant app from the Dock. To do this, please follow the steps below. Please see How to install Microsoft Teams on a macOS, and how to complete Microsoft Office 365 Family Subscription.

To do this, right-click on the app, then right-click on the option. From the context menu, select Options. and Remove from Dock.
