How to fix Windows Microsoft Store not opening

The Microsoft Store previously known as Windows Store is a digital distribution platform for various applications managed by Microsoft. It first started as an app store but later merged with other distribution platforms to form Microsoft Store. In this guide, I will be showing you how to fix Windows Microsoft Store not opening. You may want to know How to install Sysinternals from the Microsoft Store, how to install Windows Subsystem for Linux on Windows 11 via the Command line, and Microsoft Store and how to add WhatsApp UWP on Windows 11.

If you need a Windows version of an application, then you can go to the Microsoft Store to download and install it. Sometimes you may want to install an application from the Microsoft Store and the application will refuse to launch but just roll indefinitely. Here is a YouTube video below discussing this issue.

1. Adjust the Date and Time

Right-click on time and date on the right side of your taskbar and click Adjust date and time. You can decide to set the date automatically or manually. Just confirm the time and date are correct.

2. Reset the Microsoft Store Cache

Open Run and type wsreset.exe and click Ok. Wait for the process to finish, then reboot your computer.

3. Installing OS Update to fix Microsoft Store not opening.

Navigate to Update & security or search for Windows Update settings.

Download and install all the updates if any is available, Windows will download them automatically in the background and they’ll be installed automatically as soon as you restart your PC.

4. Fix Microsoft Store not opening by running Microsoft Store Apps troubleshooter

Navigate to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps

Click on Run and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the troubleshooting process.

5. Repair and Reset the Microsoft Store app.

Navigate to Apps and scroll down to Microsoft Store, open the Advance options. Try repairing or resetting the Microsoft Store app.
