Cloud Backup stores and protects important files and documents as a preventative measure against data loss due to hard drive failures, stolen devices and ransomware. In this article, we shall discuss the steps to set up Norton Cloud Backup on Windows. Kindly refer to these exciting guides: How to remove Norton from Mac using the RemoveNortonMacFiles tool, how to Enable or disable Norton silent mode on Mac, and how to copy and paste between host machines and VirtualBox VM.

In order to proceed with these steps, you need to be signed in to your Norton product to use the Cloud Backup feature. The first time you run a backup, your Norton product may take some time to examine and copy all the files on your computer. If your Internet connection is slow, the process may take longer!

Note: You can also set up and create your backup sets via the Norton 360 Device Security

Create Backup Set

Before running Norton Cloud Backup, you have to create a backup set that specifies what files you want to back up.

In order to proceed, I will rename the existing Backup Set and click on OK.

Note: You can create a new Create New Backup Set as shown below.

You can also specify where you want the files to be backed up and when you want the backup to run. You can backup files to the cloud using Norton Cloud Backup or to your own external drives.

On the Where tab, in the Destination column, select Secure Cloud Storage. As you can see, this is the recommended setting.

Run Norton Cloud Backup on Demand

Open your Norton Security Application. From the My Norton dashboard, next to Cloud Backup, click Run Backup.

In the Run Backup window, wait for the backup task to complete. This may take some time depending on the size of the backup set.

After the backup task is complete, click Close.

Also, see how to Download and install Norton 360 Anti-Virus on your Mac device, and Enable or disable Norton silent mode on Mac.

Points to Note!

Norton product does not back up your files automatically if the backup destination is a local backup. Backing up to local storage devices needs your intervention.

If the backup is not complete, Norton will suggest some possible causes such as inadequate storage capacity or speed limitations. Always check that you are connected to the Internet when running a backup and that storage devices are connected and turned on.
