How to remove (uninstall) a printer on a macOS

Replacing an old printer with a new printer (model) requires you to delete printer drivers from your macOS. Below are the simple steps to remove (uninstall) a printer from the list of available printers on a macOS.

Access the System Preferences and click Printers & Scanners as shown below.

click Printers & Scanners

This will open the Printer and Scanners window as shown below

To remove the old Printer and Fax devices the following steps below should be performed.

To remove a Printer

– Click on the Printer and
– select the (-) sign to remove the printer

Click on Delete printer
Click on Delete printer
Select the (-) sign to remove the printer
Select the (-) sign to remove the printer

To remove a Fax

Same steps should be followed as the printer above.
– Click on the Printer and
– select the (-) sign to remove the printer

Select fax and click on (-) minus
Select fax and click on (-) minus
Click on Delete Fax
Click on Delete Fax

Also, ensure to remove the Printer form the Printer Management (HP Utility as shown below. See the the following articles for more Printer Management: How to remove printers from HP Utility.
