Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop Protocol is a proprietary protocol developed by Microsoft which provides a user with a graphical interface to connect to another computer over a network connection. See the following guide on how to fix Remote Desktop Connection issues. Whenever you are faced with this kind of error “Remote Desktop cannot find the computer this might mean that does not belong to the specified network: Verify the computer name and domain that you are trying to connect to”, please see the steps below to resolve it. Here are some related guides:  How to remove server connection entries from RDP, how to remove saved RDP entries in Windows 10, and how to allow saved credentials for RDP connection.

For a similar error, see the guide "Remote Desktop can not find the computer FQDN and this might mean that FQDN does not belong to the specified network".

Troubleshoot Remote Desktop Network Error

Here are the few ways to have this corrected, and please let me know in the comment section, if this solution was optimal for you as well.

As you can see from the error message, The Remote desktop Connection (RDP) was unable to find the Server Name.
– Ensure the right names are given.
– Also, if you are using FQDN, ensure the name is resolvable.
– Lastly, if the two steps above do not resolve the issue, ensure your firewall permits this connection.
