One advantage of connecting your device to your Microsoft account is that it saves you from losing your data if you forget your PC password. For example, connecting your PC to your account allows you to reset your password without losing data. You’ve come to the right place if you recently purchased a new Windows computer and want to link it to your Microsoft account. Connecting your device to your Microsoft account makes it safer and more straightforward to access if an unexpected event occurs, such as forgetting your login password, and it also allows you to make regular backups.

Windows Computer Integration Process

So how do you add your device to your Microsoft account? The following guide will show you how to add multiple devices to your Microsoft account.

To begin, you should first go to your Microsoft Account dashboard. To access your device’s Microsoft account dashboard, press the Windows key to open the Start menu then click on Settings.

Click on Accounts, on the right side click the Microsoft account you have your devices connected to and in the account drop-down select Manage.

Alternatively, to access the Microsoft account Manage settings, on the Windows Taskbar click on Microsoft Store.

In Microsoft store, click on Profile and from the drop-down select Manage account and devices.

Computer registration

On clicking the Mange button, you will be redirected to your Microsoft account login page on your default browser. Enter your account password and click the Sign in button.

Register Your Windows Device

On the Devices dashboard, click on Register device.

Then a popup will show up asking you to choose your device Location and to enter the Serial number for the device.

If you’re struggling with your device serial number, Microsoft offers assistance. Click on ‘Help me find my serial number’ link to access a dropdown list of your devices. Afterward, accept terms and conditions to proceed.

Tick the “I accept the terms of the privacy statement” and click Confirm.

If your device was successfully added, you should see a pop-up like the one above.
