The thirteenth feature update for Windows 10 since its initial release, the Windows 10 2022 Update (version 22H2), is currently making its way gradually to eligible devices. For customers who are not yet ready to upgrade to Windows 11, or for systems with unsupported hardware, this is yet another minor maintenance update.  In this article, you will learn how to get the Windows 10 Version 22H2 Update. Windows Version 22H2 Update

Version 22H2 will be accessible as an optional update via the Windows Update settings and will automatically deploy as a monthly update for devices already running the October 2021 Update, May 2021 Update, or October 2020 Update. However, a system running an older operating system will first receive the May 2021 update and then install the 2022 update.

In the coming weeks, Microsoft will gradually push out the update to more devices, starting with those that are known to have favorable upgrade experiences. How to install Windows 10 2022 Update using Windows Update

Windows Update is one of the most convenient ways to upgrade to version 22H2. Follow these steps to install the Windows 10 2022 Update from the Windows Update settings:

  • Press Windows key + I to open Settings. In Settings, click on Update & Security.
  • Click on Windows Update.
  • If the computer is eligible to run Windows 11, click the Stay on Windows 10 for now option (if applicable).
  • Click the Check for updates button. If version 22H2 is available for your device proceed to the next step.

Under the “Feature Update to Windows 10, version 22H2” section, click the “Download and install now” button.

Once the installation is complete, Restart your computer to complete the process.

It’s not a good idea to force the download of an update. If you don’t have the opportunity to upgrade through Windows Update settings. The update may not be entirely compatible with your hardware configuration.

How to install Windows 10 2022 Update using Update Assistant

To perform an in-place upgrade to Windows 10 version 22H2 with the Update Assistant, use these steps. Go to the Microsoft support website and click the Update Now button to download the Windows 10 update assistance.

Run the Windows 10 Upgrade file to launch the Windows 10 update assistant and click the Update Now button.

Click the Next button. The Windows update assistance will download and the Windows 10 update version 22H2. When the process is complete, click the Restart Now button.

Only utilize the Update Assistant. As it will reinstall the operating system if Windows Update is not working properly. Or the device is behind numerous versions, such as version 1909.

How to install Windows 10 2022 Update using Media Creation Tool

This approach allows you to do a clean installation of the 2022 Update or an in-place update using the Media Creation Tool. Follow these procedures to install the 2022 Update using the Media Creation Tool:

Go to the Microsoft support website and click the Download tool now button to save the installer on the device.

Run the MediaCreationTool22H2.exe file to begin the in-place upgrade process. Click the Accept button for the terms and conditions and select the Upgrade this PC now option and click the Next button.

Click the Accept button again to agree to the licensing terms. Select the Keep personal files and apps option and click the Install button.

When you finish, the utility will upgrade your computer to the most recent version of Windows 10 while maintaining all of your data, preferences, and running apps.
