How to perform Password Change with OWA

Posted on 14/04/201626/10/2023 Christian By Christian No Comments on How to perform Password Change with OWA
Changing Password

Experience the convenience of secure Password Change with OWA. In Exchange 2013, activating this default feature lets users modify their AD password right within Outlook Web Access, much like initiating a domain password change from their personal computer. Please see Outlook Web Access: Password Change, Outlook Web Access: Password Change, How to block the Change Password Feature for All Users via the Exchange Administrative Center, and how to Configure and Migrate from Universal Analytics (UA) property to GA4 property using Setup Assistant.

Access Outlook Web Access environment

Log into your Outlook Web Access environment using your company’s OWA URL. In my example, it is as shown below.

https://owa.xxxxx.de/owa

You may also want to see how to Block Change Password for Specific Exchange Users, and how to stop Outlook from opening links in Edge Browser.

Seamless Password Change

Experience seamless Password Change with OWA. Head to mailbox settings, then click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of your Outlook Web Access. Login Outlook Web Access (OWA)

Click on Settings, and a small context menu will open up from which you can select Change Password.

Experience a streamlined process with Password Change with OWA. Access the Change Password settings page effortlessly. Provide your current Active Directory password, followed by your new password, entered twice for security.

Afterwards, the Password Change with OWA should be successful, and you expect confirmation. You will receive a notification popup if there is anything short of a success message.

The most common problem is not having a new password complying with the company’s security policy settings.

To disable password change for all uses in Exchange, To have this disabled for selected users only, see the Allow Password change for specific users in Exchange Server.
