Remove an icon from launchpad that has been deleted
Note: This app does not also appear in Finder anymore but appears only on the the Launchpad.
Kindly follow these steps to have it removed. You have to be logged in as an Administrator of the device.
- Open Launchpad.
- Press and hold the Alt (⌥) key, or click and hold the app icon until it jiggles.
- Click the “x” button in the upper-left of you want to delete as shown below.

Note: If you do not see an “x” button. Either the app is not from the Mac App Store or you are not logged in as an Administrator.
- Finally, delete the app and click “Delete” in the confirmation dialog box.
