The solution to fixing macOS Apps opening on the wrong desktop
You will have to head to System Preferences
and then click on Mission Control
uncheck the “Automatically arrange spaces based on most recent use” and “When switching to a space switch to one with open windows”.

As you can see below, both are checked. You will have to uncheck
“Automatically arrange spaces based on most recent use” and “When switching to a space switch to one with open windows”.

As you can see below, I have unchecked both options. And this should resolve the issue of having to have the apps opened in a different window.
