The password has expired, update your password and try again

Azure AD Connect is an on-premises Microsoft application that’s designed to meet and accomplish your hybrid identity goals. The following error will be prompted if you wish to perform an on-premise synchronisation to the Azure Active Directory environment. Why was this error “The password has expired, update your password and try again” prompted?

This error is because the Global Administrator’s password has not been verified yet as shown below.

Fix Azure Hybrid Synchronization error

To resolve this issue, simply open a web browser https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/ and you will be requested.

Click on Sign-in and enter your initial password and and enter your new password

The password has been verified and you can perform the synchronisation

Now the error is no longer present as shown below.
