Azure AD Connect: The password has expired, update your password and try again

The following error will be prompted if you wish to perform an on-premise synchronisation to Azure Active Directory environment. See the following guide on how to integrate your on-premise AD to Azure AD.

This error is because, the Global Administrators password has not been verified yet as shown below.

To resolve this issue, simple open a web browser and you will be requested
– Click on Sign-in and enter your initial password and and
– Enter your new password

You the password has been verified and you can perform the synchronisation

Now the error is no longer present as shown below.
