Whether you’re writing a letter or calculating numerical data, your keyboard is the main way to enter information into your computer. Therefore, it is very vital that we select the right keyboard language. This will make the overall user experience flawless. Keyboard also provides ways to interact with your device via shortcuts. They’re called shortcuts because they help you work faster. In fact, almost any action or command you can perform with a mouse can be performed faster using one or more keys on your keyboard. Want to know how to change or add another keyboard language in Windows? Read on.

Kindly refer to these related guides: How to use the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) via the Command Prompt and Settings, how to prevent the on-screen keyboard from starting automatically and from appearing at login, how to Enable or Disable Touch Screen in Windows 10, and how to configure the FrontFace Lockdown Tool.

I was recently working in a Lab envoornment that had the English keyboard and this made life very difficult as I currently have the German keyboard connected to my device. For this to work, a language pack needs to be installed on your device.

To change or add another language from the Settings App

Press Windows + I keys to open the Settings app and then click Time & Language.
– Click on Language as shown below
– Then select “Add a language”.

add language in Windows Server

This will display the languages that are available on the Server. Choose the language you want to add

Windows Server language settings

Click on the particular language you wish to install. When done, you can then type or read the text in the new language.

configuring keyboard language

Click on install as shown below to add language in Window Server

As you can see from the message, you are being told that these changes will take effect immediately after the installation finishes.
– As you can see the installation progress bar as shown below

After you enable the keyboard layout for two or more languages in the Windows operating system, you can use the Language bar to switch between languages that use different keyboard layouts.

Now the German Keyboard is now available to me. That is all you need to install a new language keyboard to a Windows Server.
