In this guide, I will be showing you how to Check and Reset Network Data Usage in Windows 11. But you may ask why this process is necessary. Remember that sometimes you may have a limited internet connection and monitoring the usage will help to use the remaining data for the actual purpose and help to display any application that is using more data on your system. Check and Reset Network Data Usage in Windows 11

Follow these steps if you want to know how to check and reset network data usage.

Check Network Data Usage in Windows

Open Windows Settings and go to the Network & Internet section. Next, click the Data usage button in the upper-right corner.

3. On the next page you will see the data usage statistics that will show the list of applications that have used your network data for the last 30 days.

4. If you want to check network usage in Windows 11 for another adapter you can just click on the drop-down in the upper-right corner that shows Wi-Fi and select Ethernet.

Resetting Network Data Usage

1: Though the data usage gets displayed for 30 days and on the 31st day it will be reset but you can reset your Internet traffic usage data manually by scrolling down to the bottom of the list and clicking on the Reset button.

2: Please note that this reset is per adapter. You will need to select the adapter you want to reset the network data.

How to use Task Manager to Reset Data Usage

You can also use Task Manager to check network usage even though it’s not the best way.

Open the Task Manager, and navigate to the App history. To reset the data usage, click the Delete Usage History link.

How to use Command Prompt to Reset Data Usage

Open the Command Prompt as Administrator. Next, copy the following command and paste it to your command prompt.

net stop DPS & DEL /F /S /Q /A "%windir%\System32\sru\*" & net start DPS​.
