The Nextcloud Desktop Client allows you to seamlessly connect to your Nextcloud server and access your files from your desktop. In this article, we shall discuss how to install Nextcloud Desktop client on Mac. Please see How To Install Nextcloud on a Linux system, “AD Connect Sync Service not running: Cannot proceed because the sync service is not running, start the ADSync service and restart the AD Connect Wizard to continue“, and How to Sync Data in Cloud Drives to Synology NAS.

This client is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions. It enables your files to be automatically synchronized between your Nextcloud server and local PC. The Nextcloud Desktop Sync client enables you to:

  • Specify one or more directories on your computer that you want to synchronize to the Nextcloud server.
  • Always have the latest files synchronized, wherever they are located.

Here is How to sync on-premises AD with Azure AD via Azure AD Connect, and how to Disable credential Prompts for Remote Desktop Connections.

Download and install Nextcloud Desktop Client

Please proceed to the following URL and download the Nextcloud Desktop Client application. Click on the version of Nextcloud you wish to install and download it.

Navigate to the Downloaded File. Once the download is complete, locate the .pkg file in your Downloads folder or wherever your browser saves downloaded files. In my case, have moved this to the Desktop.

Double-click on the .pkg file to begin the installation process. This will launch the macOS installer.
