Hyper-V

In this article, we shall discuss how to fix unable to create a new VM on HyperV. Hyper-V is a virtualization platform from Microsoft that enables you to create and manage virtual machines (VMs) on a physical server. It is widely used in enterprise environments for consolidating workloads, testing, and running multiple operating systems on the same hardware. Please see How to Create a Windows Server VM on HyperV, and how to “Fix for a boot image was not found for HyperV Virtual Machine.

Also, see How to run Windows 11 on HyperV, how to fix “Failed to Power on with Error ‘A virtual machine disk support provider for the specified file was not found“. Here is a guide on Enable HyperV on Windows: How to install Windows 11 on HyperV.

When prompted with this following error. “The Virtual Machine Management service encountered an error while configuring the hard disk on a virtual machine”

Virtual Machine

Solution: The Virtual Machine Management Service encountered an Error

This is because the system failed to create a new hard disk file. That is the same hard disk file of the same name on the same path.

Locate where the VHDX files are stored and delete them. And then try to create a new Virtual Machine (VM).
