How to install Zoom on macOS

Zoom is the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars. Before you can host or join a Zoom meeting. You will need to download and install the Zoom client on your PC. Also, if you are sent an email to join a Zoom meeting. You will be prompted to download the client if you have not so already. This guide will show you how to install Zoom on macOS Big Sur, Mojave, Catalina, High Sierra, and Capitan.

This article explains the steps to install Zoom on macOS using Homebrew (this step requires you to have Homebrew installed on macOS, and how to check if Homebrew is installed on macOS. For more on Homebrew, please visit this link), and also via the Zoom installer.

Part 1: Download and Install Zoom Via Homebrew

Homebrew is the package manager for Mac which makes installing lots of different software like Git, Ruby, and Node simpler, etc.

Homebrew keeps its standard commands simple and installs only single-file applications through its default brew command-line interface. Launch your Terminal, and open the Spotlight search using the “command + space” button and type “Terminal“, then hit the “return or enter” key.

Alternatively, ht your launch pad and click on the Terminal icon as shown below.

Regardless of the method you chose, this will open the terminal. Next, run the following install command <brew install –cask zoom>. Please navigate to the following Homebrew page and search for the Zoom command.

Enter the command below into the terminal, you will be required to enter your password. This will have Zoom installed on your device.

Part 2: Download Zoom Via the official Website

Via the official Zoom. Navigate to the following URL https://zoom.us/download and from the Download Center, click on the Download button under “Zoom Client For Meetings”.

Once the download is complete, proceed with installing the Zoom application onto your computer. Double-click on the download file as shown below.

I will select to make zoom available to all users as shown below

You will be required to click on “install” to have zoom installed on your macOS.

You will be required to enter your password for the installation to continue.

As you can see below, the installation is complete.
