Integrate Icloud With Windows

If you’re using Apple Calendar (iCloud Calendar) but work primarily on a Windows PC with Microsoft Outlook, there isn’t a perfect one-to-one feature match. However, you can achieve reliable synchronization using iCloud for Windows. In this article, we shall discuss how to Synchronize Apple Calendar on Windows with Outlook [Part 2]. Please, see how to Fix Users must have at least permission on these subscriptions, and how to fix Error 401 Permission denied for invalid PVE ticket.

Although Apple Calendar and Microsoft Outlook do not offer identical feature sets, basic calendar synchronization works reliably through iCloud for Windows.

Prerequisites

Below are some of the prerequisites needed to successfully synchronize Apple Calendar on Windows. I believe before preceding to integrate or sync your calendar, you must have met the below requirements.

  • An Apple ID with iCloud enabled on your iPhone/iPad/Mac
  • Windows PC with Outlook installed (Classic or New Outlook)
  • iCloud for Windows installed

Please, see how to synchronize your Domain Controller with an external time source, how to Sync Google Calendar events to Apple Calendar, and “how to Share Microsoft Outlook Calendar on Desktop and on Web.

Install iCloud for Windows

Many users operate in mixed ecosystems using Apple devices for personal scheduling while relying on Windows PCs and Outlook in professional environments. Fortunately, syncing Apple Calendar with Outlook on Windows is entirely possible.

Here is the link to download and install iCloud for Windows on your PC. You can click on Download or view in Store to install it.

Iloud App

Upon download, double click on the iCloud Installer

Download And Install Icloud For Windows 1

On the window below, click on “Get Started”.

Get Started

Sign in with your Apple ID and complete any two‑factor authentication steps.

Sign In To Icloud

Please, see how to Scan Apple Calendar: Prevent Norton from scanning your Apple Calendar on iOS, how to remove Windows PC from your iCloud Account completely, and how to Enable SSH and Remote Desktop Connection in Windows Server.

Enable calendar sync to Outlook

When you enable calendar sync in iCloud for Windows, it creates an iCloud data file in Outlook and adds your iCloud calendars as separate folders in the Outlook Calendar view.

Any events already in iCloud are pulled into Outlook, and new events you create on those iCloud calendars inside Outlook sync back to iCloud and your Apple devices.

To enable calendar sync to Outlook, you will have to walk through some irrelevant steps such as the below which I will skip by selecting “Not now”.

Sync Photos

I will also do the same for the iCloud Drive to File Explorer. I will click on “Not Now”.

Sync Icloud

On the Sync your Password, I will also not sync it and will select “Not Now”.

Sync Password

Do the same for the Bookmarks is your goal is to enable calendar sync to Outlook

Sync Bookmark

To sync calendar and Contacts to Outlook, click “Sync Calendars and Contacts”.

Sync Calendar And Contacts

On the “Welcome to iCloud for Windows”, click on Finish Setup.

Finish Setup

As you can see, the setup is complete. Click on Donw.

Sync Complete

Please, see an old post on how this was done on previous versions of Windows and the steps have not changed a lot “how to install and uninstall iCloud for Windows, and how to Create an NFS Storage on Synology NAS and Present it to XCP-ng.

iCloud for Windows settings on a Windows PC

The green status with on shows that Calendars and Contacts sync is already enabled but not fully connected to Outlook yet. Click on “Open in Outlook”.

Account Details

Sign-into Outlook and click on Connect.

Connect To Outlook

As you can see below, the account has been successfully added. I will add more account and click in Next

Add Another Account

As you can see below, I have added more accounts and these Calendars and Contacts are available in Outlook henceforth.

Setup

Now, you can open outlook and your calendars will be available. Your Apple Calendar events should appear in Outlook. When you create a new event in Outlook, make sure you select the iCloud calendar (not a local or Exchange calendar) if you want that event to sync back to your Apple devices.

While not perfect, iCloud for Windows provides a stable and practical bridge between Apple Calendar and Outlook.

I hope you fund this article on how to Synchronize Apple Calendar on Windows with Outlook [Part 2] very useful. Please, feel free to leave a comment below.
