Phone Link

In this blogpost, we shall discuss how to link an iPhone with Windows PC with Phone Link App. Linking an iPhone to a Windows PC enables file transfers, syncing, notifications via the Microsoft Phone Link. According to the iPhone User Guide, you can use a cable to directly connect your iPhone to a Mac with OS X 10.9 or later, or to a Windows device with Windows 7 or later. Please, see how to link your Android or iPhone to your Windows 10 PC, how to Generate SSH Keys in Windows 10, and how to automatically offload unused Apps on iPhone.

To reiterate, connecting your iPhone to a Windows PC is easier than ever. Whether you want to sync photos, send messages, transfer files, and back up your device. Windows now offers several seamless integration options.

Also, see Microsoft Phone Link: Connect Android to Windows 11, how to Integrate your phone and other devices with Microsoft Edge, and how to Turn off calls from iPhone: How to unlink FaceTime from Mac.

Install the Phone Link App on Windows and iPhone

During the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) on a new Windows 11 laptop (initial setup). You will be prompted to pair your mobile device to enable cross-device features such as notifications, messaging, and file access.

OOBE pairing boosts productivity immediately with wireless mirroring of calls/texts/photos, unlike Android’s fuller screen casting.

For me, since I use iPhone, I will select iPhone as shown below.

Pair Your Phone

From my mobile device, I will scan the below QR code and follow the prompts on the mobile device.

Pair with iphone

Confirm the pairing code with what is shown on your iPhone and click on pair.

As you can see below, I have successfully paired my Windows PC with my iPhone. Click on Continue to proceed as shown below.

Cloud Sync with iCloud for Windows

iCloud for Windows syncs photos, drive files, contacts wirelessly after one-time setup. You may want to see “Synchronize Apple Calendar on Windows with Outlook [Part 2], and “how to install and uninstall iCloud for Windows“.

Below is a quick comparison of methods to connect your iPhone to Windows device. I would recommend that you choose based on needs: wireless for quick access, wired for large transfers.
